Micah Sobus may have a degree in chemical engineering, but he brings so much more than technical expertise to his role as Vice President, Global Commercial, IFF Pharma Solutions. During his 14+ years with our organization and its predecessors, Micah honed his focus on the customer-facing side of the business. He cares deeply about our customers – keeping them at the heart of everything he does.

He is a shining example of how being open to new experiences and saying “yes” when opportunities present themselves, can lead to meaningful personal and professional growth. Early in his career, he learned the importance of seeing others’ perspectives. And the six months he spent living in The Netherlands broadened his experiences. During that time, he gained an understanding and respect for different cultures and ways of doing business that still fuels him today.

While his overarching goal at Pharma Solutions is to drive sales growth, he acknowledges that delighting customers is paramount. Whether it’s supporting his talented team of account managers to develop strong relationships or driving cross-functional alignment on key issues, he is always working to exceed stakeholder expectations.

“We’re lucky to work in a great business that ultimately exists to help people. Being a reliable steward of the business and doing things the right way is very important to me, because of the impact that it has on so many people,” said Micah.

At home he’s got the most challenging of all customers to please – two teenagers! When he’s not driving them to and from activities, he unwinds with his favorite hobbies – golf and playing music. If the weather is nice, he’s out on the greens. But you could just as easily find him dabbling on his guitar or piano. Exercising his creative side keeps him sharp for the next customer challenge ahead!
