A Pharma Innovator Charting a Course for the Future in LATAM

Pushing the limits at work and on the water, Adriana Quiroga embodies Roquette’s commitment to the future of excipient science in Latin America and worldwide. A highly regarded pharmacist and world-class sailor, Adriana brings the passion of a scientist and the intensity of an athlete to everything she does for Roquette.

With nearly 25 years in the pharma industry, Adriana is an expert and innovator who specializes in supporting the development of oral dosage forms – specifically, modified release formulations and film-coating polymers. So, it’s no surprise that she was a driving force behind Roquette’s new state-of-the-art innovation center in São Paulo, Brazil, which opened this month (October 2025). This facility features modern laboratory and training spaces to empower pharmaceutical and nutraceutical innovation across Latin America.

“I am so proud of our team’s achievements to open this new lab – Roquette’s first in the Latin America region,” Adriana said. “Customers will benefit greatly from the advanced technologies and technical support we will offer here.
I also look forward to opportunities to host youth at the lab and mentor tomorrow’s brightest!”

While her work on the innovation center has been a priority this year, Adriana believes that sharing knowledge with others is a key way to support ongoing pharmaceutical advancements. She is frequently tapped to speak at industry events and has authored several articles and posters. She also thrives on learning new things from colleagues, customers, and peers. Gaining new perspectives helps her focus on the ultimate goal of improving patients’ lives.

Even with all of her professional commitments, Adriana’s energy seems boundless! She often swaps her lab coat for sailing gear as an elite athlete who competes for Team Argentina in Snipe Class sailing. She describes it as “playing chess on the water,” and thrives on the physical and mental challenges the sport provides. It’s clear that Adriana gives 110% at work and at play – and Roquette is better for it!
